TRAINING
Integral Psychology
The “Academy” is a program of the Foundation that aims to provide comprehensive training for both the professionals who are part of the team, as well as psychology and related sciences students and external professionals. The idea is to use this platform to convey the foundations of an integral psychology that seeks to have a complete understanding of the human being, based on the principles of Aristotelian-Thomistic doctrine, while also enriched by contemporary scientific contributions that help shape our own approach.
This program has several avenues of work:
– Organization, preparation, and teaching of training courses.
– Organizing and managing Congresses, Symposia, Workshops, etc.
– Delivering educational talks in various settings.
– It also ensures the professional development of the members working in the Foundation by offering training, readings, and educational programs.
Currently, we offer the “Integral Psychology of the Person” course at various locations, which consists of two cycles.
The first, known as the basic cycle, consists of over 20 classes covering topics from the general to the specific. In this regard, it begins with an exposition of the anthropological foundations necessary for a deep understanding of the human person, followed by the development of the concept of integral psychology of the person. It then delves into the characteristic approach of this understanding of the human being, before analyzing different psychological currents and various schools of psychotherapy.
The second cycle is more specific and aims for participants to take on a more active role. In this respect, readings on various authors and themes are proposed, followed by preparing students to analyze the material and engage in subsequent work. This is structured in stages where students are guided by more experienced professionals.
Another activity organized by the Academy was the hosting of the First International Pharus Conference, held in July 2023. Two primary reasons drove us to carry out this conference. One of them was to create a space for personal interaction. As the Foundation has been growing exponentially in recent times and has opened various branches and locations, it has provided the opportunity for many professionals to become part of it. However, it has also hindered personal contact among them.
Pharus is not just about acquiring knowledge, but also about building a TEAM
Adam Levine
CEO & Co-Founder
We are convinced that working at Pharus is not just about acquiring knowledge to help us in the clinic, but also about building a TEAM. We would rather say that it is fundamentally about forming a strong team, grounded in values and principles, guided by clear criteria that illuminate our practices and our lives in general. The team also supports, sustains, and allows its members to lean on each other. This is what identifies Pharus, which is why belonging to the Foundation challenges us beyond our professional facet. It connects us, opens us to others, to being with others and being for others.
Another reason for this meeting was to ensure training. Our commitment to the professional vocation demands hard work in this aspect. Our wounded and redeemed human nature, open to reality, demands that constant search for truth. As psychologists and mental health professionals, delving into the inner life of the human person, we cannot be oblivious to the reality of humanity. This reality is manifested in its tendencies, emotions, reactions, ways of relating, etc. In order to respond to this mystery that is the human person, it is necessary to pause and understand how all these manifestations occur, how their sensitivity is affected, how their passions become disordered, how their will is broken, and their intelligence is clouded.
In this regard, it is expected that these workshops will help us ensure that clinical practices are grounded in two fundamental pillars: on one hand, in the Thomistic anthropological foundations, an essential matter for us to remain faithful to our understanding and cosmovision of the human being; and on the other hand, in the scientific evidence that helps us to be technically proficient, precise, and up-to-date when considering comprehensive approaches for individuals.
Additionally, the Academy is involved in the management and organization of the Psychology Congresses of Southern Mendoza, which have been held biennially? since 2010, and have already become established within both the professional and academic community.
